Lur was formed in 2006 by the old friends Mika Forsling and Erik Rask. The band was an reaction against the current musical climate that ruled the world. In contrast to most bands Lur wanted to do live-shows containing all elements of arts. Livemusic, visuals, interaction and acting became important parts of their performances. By using the benefits of live-looping and effects they could play and loop a lot of different instruments and junk, creating songs sounding like a whole orchestra. Starting at underground-clubs Lur became very popular in southern Sweden and soon they performed at bigger clubs and festivals around the country.
In their show Lurmaskopi, performed at theatres and clubs in 2008, Lur took their concept one step futher by adding interactive animations to the music. The mix of music, interaction and visuals resulted in a show rarely seen before.
In 2009, they released the show Disco Terror in cooperation with the Swedish national theatre (Riksteatern). Dancing skeletons, music creation on kitchen items, ghosts, bombastic beats and playful projections made the show a great success.
Apart from this, Lur has led workshops in live-looping and participated in different art projects. During 2010, Lur performed in a lot of venues and festivals around Europe. At the moment Lur is recording their first record and making plans for their release tour, starting in May 2011.
Their way of making music on different objects and their captivating energy is making Lur one of the most interesting livebands today.
